Supporting Gabby's Journey
Vista Palomar Riders is proud to support one of our own, Gabby Barrier, in her journey to win barrel racing at the Junior Vegas Tuffest World Championship December 3 through 9, 2025 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
With the cost of training, traveling, and properly competing now stretching into the $5,000 range, VPR is donating $500 to help her on her journey and we encourage all of our members to join us in supporting her as well. Every contribution regardless of amount is greatly appreciated.
Please read her bio below to learn what an active participant this young competitor has been over the years. Several sponsorship opportunities may be found below.
Thank you!

About me...
My journey began when I was just ten years old. I joined a volunteer group for kids to help with horses for about nine hours a week, mucking stalls, feeding, watering and grooming horses. After months of committed volunteer work, my parents saw that I was serious about my love for horses and I managed to earn a leased horse and begin riding.

After a couple of years riding, my family took the big leap to become active members of Vista Palomar Riders, even though we did not own a horse. It was at VPR that I really began to personally grow into my own as a rider and at the age of 13, I earned my first horse by working hard for other horse owners in the area to help keep up with the costs and responsibilities of owning and riding my horse.

For the last two and a half years I have been delighted to work part time at Country Feed Store in Vista while also volunteering on the Junior Riders Board and volunteering at all events. I've participated at VPR events ever since I first became a member and am glad to have volunteered at both our first- and second-annual Kids for Country events. I love the idea of supporting kids like me to achieve their dreams too!

I'm currently leading barrel racing in the California Junior Rodeo Association circuit and this year I was fortunate enough to win first place in the Vegas Toughest Qualifier with a 14.9 earning me a spot at the Junior Vegas Tuffest Junior World Championship in Las Vegas December 3 - 9, 2025 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, during the biggest weeks in rodeo, the National Finals Rodeo.

Through all of my riding, training, volunteering and working long hours, I have still maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and will be attending Palomar College, then California State San Marcos where I will major in business. I will continue to participate in college rodeo and ultimately grow a profession in agricultural real estate to help keep all of our lifestyle alive.
I'm so grateful to my parents for encouraging and supporting me over the years. As the first person in my family to go to college, all while pursuing my dreams of horsemanship, hard work, and rodeo, I am truly blessed.

Thank you so much for reading my story and joining in my exciting journey. I will be working hard to make Vista Palomar Riders proud and to honor my community.

Thank you!
